Three Reasons to Go Out This Weekend: Rasta at Lasta, FOMO at Hangar, and Nytt Land's Return

The coming weekend — Thursday through Saturday — is one of those rare convergences when multiple genuine reasons to leave home align at the same time. Thursday brings a return, Friday brings two separate worlds of dance and electronic music, and the whole stretch carries the kind of momentum that makes Belgrade's nightlife worth the attention it gets.
Thursday: Nytt Land Returns to Belgrade
The Siberian duo Nytt Land is performing at Zappa Barka at 20:00 (8pm) on Thursday, May 21. This is their return to Belgrade after a remarkable performance in 2024 at Zappa Baza, and they are coming to present their 11th studio album, Aba Khan. The band's approach — what has been described as ritual Nordic folk and shamanic spectacle — sits in a category entirely distinct from the standard nightlife programming the city offers. The performance is part of their European tour, and it is the kind of event that tends to stay with people longer than a typical club night.
Friday: Two Different Approaches to Electronic Sound
Rasta at Lasta Club — R&B and Live Performance Energy
Rasta is performing at Lasta Club on Friday, May 22, starting at 23:00 (11pm). Lasta Club — the outdoor venue on river — has built its reputation as Belgrade's leading R&B and urban music space, and Rasta's appearance slots naturally into that identity. Rasta is a central figure in the Belgrade R&B scene, and his performances at Lasta have a documented history of energy and sell-out appeal. The club functions as a proper venue for this kind of artist, with a crowd that comes specifically to listen and respond to the performance itself. Entry is 3,000 RSD.
FOMO at Hangar — International Techno Visitor
On the same Friday evening, FOMO is bringing DJ Tennis to Hangar (Zorza Klemansoa 37) starting at 22:00 (10pm). DJ Tennis is a genuinely global figure in contemporary electronic music — respected for his boundary-pushing approach to house and techno. The Fomo concept itself is worth understanding: this is Belgrade's most consistent high-level electronic music series, run by a collective that brings in international names and pairs them with local talent. The Hangar venue — a large space with serious technical setup — is the city's main room for this kind of programming. This is techno and house at an uncompromising level, targeting a listening crowd rather than a social crowd.

Why These Events Matter
What makes this particular weekend interesting is the range. Thursday offers something genuinely outside the standard club context. Friday presents two completely different approaches to what a serious night out can be — R&B as a social/performance event versus techno as a pure listening experience. And the fact that all of this is happening at the same time, across different spaces in the same city, at different price points, with different crowds and different intentions, is fairly distinctive.
